{"id":7261,"date":"2025-01-08T10:39:39","date_gmt":"2025-01-08T10:39:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theromanridgeschool.com\/new\/?p=7261"},"modified":"2025-01-08T15:44:07","modified_gmt":"2025-01-08T15:44:07","slug":"citizen-awareness-campaign-see-something-say-something","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theromanridgeschool.org\/therr\/2025\/01\/08\/citizen-awareness-campaign-see-something-say-something\/","title":{"rendered":"Citizen Awareness Campaign: See Something, Say Something"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p id=\"ember22809\">On Thursday 7 December 2023, students in Form 3 and 4 engaged with facilitators from the Ministry of National Security, as part of the on-going nation-wide citizen safety campaign: <strong><em>SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember22810\">Led by Ms. Irene Yaa Frimpong, the interactive sessions conscientised students on the benefits and advantages citizens enjoy in a safe and stable country. This was followed by a comparative analysis of the challenges faced by young people in countries struggling with conflict. They introduced students to an acronym <strong>(SALUTE)<\/strong> used to help citizens stay vigilant against suspicious activity:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember22811\"><strong>Size<\/strong>: Number of people and physical characteristics<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember22812\"><strong>Activity<\/strong>: &nbsp;What the individuals are doing<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember22813\"><strong>Location<\/strong>: Where the activity is taking place<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember22814\"><strong>Unit<\/strong>: &nbsp;Identify unique identifiers like uniforms or symbols<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember22815\"><strong>Time:<\/strong> When observation occurred<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember22816\"><strong>Equipment:<\/strong> Any tools or weapons noticed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember22817\">Sessions were engaging and students demonstrated their great critical thinking skills &#8211; questioning assumptions and analysing scenarios during the exciting Q &amp; A session!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember22818\">Before concluding, students were urged to take proactive steps to keep Ghana safe for all citizens:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember22819\">1. <strong>Stay Informed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember22820\">2. <strong>Share knowledge and educate others<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember22821\">3. <strong>Practice situational awareness<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember22822\">4. <strong>Collaborate with authorities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember22823\">5. <strong>Participate in safety initiatives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember22824\">Students were further encouraged to equip themselves with the skills taught and not only to enhance their personal safety, but to promote security in our communities and our country Ghana.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday 7 December 2023, students in Form 3 and 4 engaged with facilitators from the Ministry of National Security, as part of the on-going nation-wide citizen safety campaign: SEE [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":7262,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[65],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-7261","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/theromanridgeschool.org\/therr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/7261","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/theromanridgeschool.org\/therr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/theromanridgeschool.org\/therr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/theromanridgeschool.org\/therr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/theromanridgeschool.org\/therr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=7261"}],"version-history":[{"count":3,"href":"https:\/\/theromanridgeschool.org\/therr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/7261\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":7405,"href":"https:\/\/theromanridgeschool.org\/therr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/7261\/revisions\/7405"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/theromanridgeschool.org\/therr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/7262"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/theromanridgeschool.org\/therr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=7261"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/theromanridgeschool.org\/therr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=7261"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/theromanridgeschool.org\/therr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=7261"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
