In line with this, students commemorated AU Day with series of thought-provoking activities to engage students with pressing issues facing the African Continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"587\" src=\"http:\/\/theromanridgeschool.org\/therr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/1721319195127-e1736336700972-1024x587.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7293\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theromanridgeschool.org\/therr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/1721319195127-e1736336700972-1024x587.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/theromanridgeschool.org\/therr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/1721319195127-e1736336700972-300x172.jpg 300w, https:\/\/theromanridgeschool.org\/therr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/1721319195127-e1736336700972-768x440.jpg 768w, https:\/\/theromanridgeschool.org\/therr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/1721319195127-e1736336700972.jpg 1463w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Form 1 students participated in a lively debate discussing the role of young people in the African Union (AU) guided by the motion: \u201cYoung people in Africa can contribute to the goals of the African Union.\u201d The supporting team eloquently argued that young Africans can significantly contribute through peace education, cultural exchange, and advocacy, whilst the opposing team highlighted challenges young people face in having their voices heard, due to limited access and influence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/theromanridgeschool.org\/therr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/1721319349973-1024x695.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7294\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Form 3 students simulated an African Union Summit, guided by the theme: \u201cThe Year of Education: Addressing Challenges and Implementing the AU Roadmap\u201d. Each student represented a Head of State from an AU Member Nation, delivering impassioned presentations on their country&#8217;s strategy to promote education and address challenges to achieve their respective national agendas and the AU&#8217;s education roadmap. Countries represented were Ghana, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Liberia, Congo and Kenya. Presentations were followed by open discussion with the audience that allowed for clarification and questions. The session concluded with a vote on a resolution prioritising education and implementing the AU roadmap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/theromanridgeschool.org\/therr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/1721319382624-1024x696.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7295\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We are grateful to the Social Studies Department, especially Mr. Emmanuel Gbedemah (History Co-ordinator) and Mr. Daniel Dodoo (History Teacher, for leading and co-ordinating this exciting event.
