On 13 May 2025, Class 5 pupils had the privilege of visiting the Nichiren Shoshu Hokkeji Buddhist Temple in Ablekuma, Greater Accra. This visit was a first-hand extension of their classroom studies on Buddhism as part of our Religious Education curriculum. Learning experiences like this help to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world experience, enabling students to understand, develop respect and appreciation for religious diversity.<\/p>\n
During the visit, students had a unique opportunity to learn more about Buddhist beliefs and practices. They observed sacred rituals, including offerings of incense and flowers, mindful breathing and chanting sessions in the temple. Students enjoyed a thought-provoking Q&A session with a resident Buddhist priest, providing students with the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about Buddhist teachings and ceremonies.<\/p>\n
Visits like these provide our students with an opportunity to learn about different world religions – fostering open-minded students who value tolerance and demonstrate a broad understanding of the world around them. Our students embraced the experience with curiosity and respect for the religious practices they witnessed.<\/p>\n
