At TRRS, we place a strong emphasis on educating our students about Ghana\u2019s rich history and culture. Through our comprehensive History curriculum and various cultural events, we aim to foster a deep connection to our Ghanaian heritage.<\/p>\n

Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day celebrates the life of Ghana\u2019s first president, who played a pivotal role in the country’s independence from British colonial rule, making Ghana the first African nation to gain freedom in 1957. This celebration serves as an important reminder of Nkrumah\u2019s dedication to Pan-Africanism, unity, and his vision for a self-reliant, independent Africa.<\/p>\n

As part of the celebration, students and staff proudly wore African attire, celebrating Ghanaian identity and unity in the spirit of celebrating the life and contributions a Pan-African Icon.\u00a0 There was a Special Assembly led by our talented students, with highlights including recitals and reflections to commemorate the occasion on 19 September 2025.<\/p>\n

Over the course of the week, students from across the school participated in a series of engaging challenges organised by our History Department, that celebrated Dr. Kwame Nkrumah\u2019s legacy:<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Junior School: A Jumble Puzzle featuring Dr. Nkrumah\u2019s image.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Middle School: Jumbles of Nkrumah\u2019s speech and reflections on his life and achievements.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Senior School: A more in-depth exploration, with challenges on his speech, life, works, and a thought-provoking presentation on “The Relevance of Nkrumah Today.”<\/p>\n

At TRRS, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day is more than a holiday, it is an opportunity to reflect on our nation’s journey, values, and future. Through events like these, we aim to inspire the next generation with the legacy of leaders like Dr. Nkrumah, and to instill in them a deep appreciation for Ghana’s cultural and historical heritage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
