This immersive experience offered a behind-the-scenes look at the vital systems and professionals who keep Ghana\u2019s skies safe and efficient.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\">They began with an engaging session led by the Ghana Meteorological Service (GMET), where students learned how weather forecasting plays a crucial role in aviation. The GMET team explained how timely meteorological data supports air traffic controllers in making informed decisions that ensure flight safety and operational efficiency.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\">Students then toured the Control Tower, observing live air traffic management in action. They witnessed how aircraft are guided through Ghanaian airspace and beyond, gaining a deeper appreciation for the precision and coordination required in air traffic control.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\">The visit also included a session with the Kotoka Airport\u2019s Engineering team, who introduced students to the advanced technologies used in communication, navigation, and surveillance. These insights highlighted the critical role of engineering in maintaining seamless airport operations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\">To round off the experience, the Air Traffic Control team shared the academic pathways and rigorous training involved in becoming a controller. This inspired many students to consider future careers in aviation, meteorology, and engineering.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\">We extend our sincere thanks to GATCA and all participating teams for making this experience both educational and inspiring.
