From 17 to 19 March 2026, The Roman Ridge School came alive with vibrant expressions of language and culture as we marked World French Language Day.<\/p>\n

The three-day event was thoughtfully curated to immerse students in the richness of French culture while showcasing the diverse linguistic strengths within our school community. From engaging poetry recitals and lively musical performances to dramatic skits and role plays inspired by our French class novels, students demonstrated that they were not just learning a language, they were building confidence in expressing themselves and embracing new perspectives.<\/p>\n

One highlight of the celebration was the French caf\u00e9 experience, where students enjoyed a taste of French delicacies; bringing culture, cuisine, and community together in a truly memorable way.<\/p>\n

At TRRS, French is introduced as early as Reception Class and remains a core subject through to Form 5. It is also a compulsory subject at Cambridge IGCSE. This strong emphasis on French underscores its strategic importance especially for Ghana, a nation bordered by Francophone countries.<\/p>\n

French Day not only demonstrated students\u2019 growing linguistic abilities but also encouraged meaningful cultural exchange, reinforcing the global relevance of learning French. The celebration aligned with TRRS\u2019s mission to develop well-rounded, globally minded students equipped to thrive in diverse environments. Beyond enhancing language proficiency, the event deepened students\u2019 appreciation for French culture and broadened their global awareness.<\/p>\n

A heartfelt congratulations to the entire French Department for organising such an impressive showcase of language and cultural excellence. French Day at TRRS was more than an event; it was a powerful reminder of how cultural awareness and global connectivity shape the leaders of tomorrow.<\/p>\n
