The science Department of TRRS organised an Inter-House Science Quiz Competition in January this year. The competition, which was keenly contested, tested their knowledge and application of topics taught in class while promoting healthy competition across all levels. The event featured a variety of contests in Junior, Middle, and Senior Schools, encouraging students to demonstrate their knowledge and critical thinking skills in Science and Mastermind challenges.
The Senior School competitions were divided into three categories: AS/A Level, IGCSE, and the Form 3 Mastermind Competition. Each of these provided an exciting platform for students to showcase their scientific understanding and problem-solving abilities.
In the Middle School, there were three distinct contests: the Common Entrance Competition for Forms 1 and 2, the Upper Key Stage 2 contest, and the Mastermind competition. These challenges tested the students’ depth of knowledge and analytical skills, engaging them in both theoretical and practical aspects of Science.
The Junior School competitions included contests for Class 3 to Class 4 pupils. These young learners enthusiastically participated, answering questions that ranged from basic Science concepts to more advanced topics for their level.
At the end of the competitions across all levels, Cobras emerged victorious, securing the first place with an impressive total score, while the Hawks and Sharks followed in second and third place, respectively. Bears rounded out the standings in fourth place.
The competition proved to be not only a fun and engaging event but also a fantastic learning experience for all involved. Students were able to challenge themselves, collaborate with their peers, and appreciate the wonders of Science.
Kudos to our Science Department for organizing a fantastic competition. We look forward to another opportunity to continue fostering a love for Science in students.
