French Day: Celebrating Language and Culture

On 20 March 2025, The Roman Ridge School hosted its annual French Day, a vibrant celebration of the French language and culture. The event provided students with an opportunity to showcase their talents through singing, dancing, skits, art, and poetry recitals, reflecting their passion for learning.

At TRRS, French is introduced as early as Reception Class and remains a core subject through to Form 5. It is also a compulsory subject at Cambridge IGCSE. This strong emphasis on French reflects its strategic importance especially for Ghana, a nation bordered by Francophone countries.

French Day highlights the students’ language proficiency and fosters cultural exchange, encouraging students to embrace the global importance of learning French. This aligns with TRRS’s mission to nurture well-rounded, world-class students equipped with the skills to thrive in diverse environments. The event not only enhanced students’ language skills but also deepened their appreciation for French culture, broadening their global awareness.

Congratulations to Mr. George Dadzie (French Coordinator) and entire French Department for organising this impressive display of French Language proficiency.

French Day at TRRS was more than just an event; it was a powerful reminder of the role language and culture play in shaping future leaders.
