On 21 March 2025, TRRS Middle School students gathered at the Primary Block for a captivating drama presentation titled “Gold, Greed & the Web of Wisdom.” The event aimed to bring to life the themes from the literature books students have been studying, while encouraging reflection on responsible decision-making, the value of wisdom in leadership, and personal growth.
The event kicked off with a dramatic reading from Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice, delving into themes of justice and mercy. This was followed by insightful monologues from The Dilemma of a Ghost, which highlighted the complexities of internal conflict, decision-making, and morality.
A key feature of the event was the play Ananse and the Pot of Wisdom, along with spoken word performances that illustrated the consequences of selfishness and the importance of sharing knowledge. The program concluded with a vibrant cultural dance performance, leaving participants with a deep connection to both the themes and their cultural roots.
Through the power of storytelling and reflection, the event inspired students to think critically about the consequences of greed and the importance of making wise choices. It also provided an opportunity for creative self-expression and confidence building, aligning with our commitment to nurturing excellent character and cultivating purposeful leaders.
A heartfelt thank you to the English Department and the facilitators: Rosina Akpey, Deborah Kotey, Florence Williams, Naomi Gyamfi, Francis Teye, and Vivian Ofori, for making this impactful event possible.
