On 24 June 2025, the Primary Block at The Roman Ridge School was transformed into a vibrant stage for “Nkyinkyim” a captivating cultural and literary showcase presented by Middle School students from Class 5 to Form 2.
Nkyinkyim, meaning “twists and turns” in Twi, brought our class readers to life through dramatic adaptations of students’ impactful literature books including:
In the Chest of a Woman – by Efo Kodjo Mawugbe
The Gods Are Not to Blame – Ola Rotimi
The Dilemma of a Ghost – Ama Atta Aidoo
Kensuke’s Kingdom – Michael Morpugo
The event also featured spoken word, musical interludes, and exhilarating African dance performances from our Saturday and After- School Dance Clubs.
Spearheaded by the Middle School English Department, this programme encouraged students to engage with meaningful, thought-provoking themes and uphold high standards in society. Beyond performance, Nkyinkyimnurtures confidence, creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork all while deepening students’ appreciation for literature and culture by bringing texts to life.
Bravo to all our young performers and facilitators for making Nkyinkyim 2025 a memorable journey through drama, identity, and storytelling.
