TRRS Wins Financial Literacy Debate Hosted by Ghana Stock Exchange

We are proud to announce that students from The Roman Ridge School showcased their brilliance  and were crowned winners  at the maiden edition of the Ring the Bell for Financial Literacy Debate, hosted by the Ghana Stock Exchange in partnership with the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) and the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).

Representing our school with distinction, the students were expertly coached by professionals from the Ghana Securities Industry Association (GSIA) and our dedicated Economics teacher, Mr. Theophilus Adams Ashun. They took on the challenge of opposing the motion: “In a Digital World, Are Capital Markets Safer and More Inclusive?”

Through well-researched arguments and real-world examples, our students critically examined the complexities of digital finance, highlighting the risks and limitations that can arise in an increasingly tech-driven financial landscape. Their performance reflected not only an excellent grasp of economic principles, but their impressive ability to think analytically and communicate persuasively.

Their outstanding performance earned them First Place, crowning The Roman Ridge School as the proud Winners of this prestigious competition. The debate was a transformative learning experience, offering our students deeper insights into global financial systems and the evolving role of technology in capital markets.

We celebrate their achievement and look forward to seeing them thrive in future academic and leadership opportunities.
