Year 4 Pupils Visit Centre for Plant Medicine Research

In alignment with TRRS’s commitment to holistic education and active learning, Year 4 pupils embarked on a fascinating educational field trip to the Centre for Plant Medicine Research in Mampong-Akuapem on 23 October 2025.

The visit was designed to introduce pupils to the world of plant-based medicine as part of their Social Studies Curriculum and show how their classroom learning connects with real-life scientific exploration.

Pupils engaged with experts at the centre who guided them through the processes of identifying, preparing, and testing medicinal plants. They toured the laboratories, explored the plant nursery, and visited the herbarium, gaining valuable insight into the scientific work behind herbal medicine.

This hands-on experience helped students understand the vital role plants play in healthcare and provided a deeper appreciation for science, nature, and research. It was a perfect blend of learning and adventure, allowing pupils to see how their studies apply beyond the classroom.

This educational field trip of discovery is an experience that will continue to inspire our young learners for years to come. Kudos to our dedicated Year 4 Teachers (Ms. Lorinda Wiafe-Agyei, Mrs. Abena Boateng, Mrs. Joyce Dekagbe, and Ms. Esther Nsarful) for facilitating this memorable trip for our pupils.
