When Stories Came Alive at TRRS

On 28 November 2025, the Primary Block of TRRS was transformed into a stage bursting with creativity and expression. Our Drama and Cantata Production, “When Stories Come Alive,” brought literature to life in the most captivating way, turning pages into performances and imagination into reality.

This initiative was designed to move students beyond reading into experiencing literature. Through drama, music, and creative interpretation, students brought to life characters, themes, and language from their Literature texts: The Wreck of the Zanzibar (Michael Morpurgo), Fasting & Feasting (Anita Desai), The Marriage of Anansewa (Efua Sutherland), and Things Fall Apart (Chinua Achebe). This multidisciplinary approach enriched their understanding, boosted confidence, encouraged collaboration, and cultivated a genuine appreciation for the arts.

Middle School students from Class 5 to Form 2 showcased incredible talent as they adapted scenes from their class novels into engaging performances. From acting and narration to music and costume design, their creativity and teamwork shone brightly, delighting the audience and reflecting their learning journey from text analysis to live performance.

The event perfectly embodied TRRS’s ethos of providing holistic education and nurturing creativity – offering our students invaluable benefits like enhanced literary appreciation, improved communication skills, teamwork and artistic expression, while building a sense of community across year groups.

Kudos to our dedicated facilitators from the English Department: Ms. Vivian Ofori, Mrs. Florence Williams, Ms. Christina Bonyan, Ms. Rosina Akpey, Mr. Francis Tetteh, and Mrs. Deborah Kotey for making this unforgettable experience possible.
