TRRS Stands Out at ALA Model African Union Conference in Johannesburg

The Roman Ridge School (TRRS) proudly represented the nation at the 2026 ALA Model African Union (ALA MAU) Conference held in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 17th–22nd March 2026. This year’s conference brought together over 300 students from 12 schools across Africa, creating a vibrant platform for high-level debate, diplomacy, and leadership development.

Our delegation distinguished itself throughout the conference, taking active roles in committee deliberations, crisis simulations, and policy negotiations. Their contributions demonstrated exceptional analytical skills, confident communication, and a strong grasp of both African and global affairs. Notably, several TRRS delegates advanced to the prestigious Pan-African Parliament debates; an opportunity reserved for outstanding participants.

These achievements are a clear demonstration of our students’ diligence and exceptional capabilities. Their ability to stand out in a highly competitive environment speaks to the strength of TRRS’s academic culture and co-curricular programme.

Beyond the awards, the conference offered students a transformative learning experience. It strengthened their leadership capacity, encouraged cross-cultural collaboration, and enhanced their appreciation for diplomacy, governance, and African unity.

TRRS expresses its heartfelt gratitude to our parents, staff, and management team for their unwavering support in making opportunities like this possible. We also extend a special thank you to Mr. Emmanuel Gbedemah (History Coordinator and TRRS MUN Patron) for his dedicated leadership and for accompanying our students on this journey to South Africa. His guidance and mentorship were instrumental in the success of our delegation.
