Celebrating International Day of Clean Energy at The Roman Ridge School

TRRS observed the International Day of Clean Energy on 26 January 2026 across the entire school community with a series of engaging and educational activities designed to raise awareness about the importance of clean energy and its impact on the environment.

Students across all year groups participated in guided learning sessions with their Form Tutors where they watched an educational video on renewable energy sources and engaged in meaningful class discussions. Together, they explored key themes including the definition of renewable energy, various clean energy sources, their advantages and challenges, the connection between clean energy and climate change, and their own personal preferences for renewable energy solutions.

In the Senior School, Mr. David Nyatepe (Geography Coordinator) delivered a concise yet impactful presentation on the global significance of promoting clean energy. His session reinforced why transitioning to sustainable energy sources is essential for our collective future.

These activities enabled students to clearly distinguish between renewable and non-renewable energy sources, understand the environmental impact of burning fossil fuels, and appreciate the broad benefits of clean energy for both people and the environment.

This initiative reflects TRRS’s commitment to holistic education, fostering Responsibility, Discipline, and environmental consciousness among students while empowering them to adopt sustainable practices.

A special thank you to Mr. David Nyatepe, our Principal Teachers, and all Form Tutors for leading and facilitating the various activities.

Through this observance, TRRS continues to inspire informed, responsible global citizens and future leaders in environmental stewardship.
