Connecting Students with Global Education: University Representatives Visit TRRS

On 23 February 2026, we were privileged to host representatives from the University of Guelph and the University of Alberta.

Dean Uwa Idemudia from the School of Social and Applied Sciences, University of Guelph, and Khadija Jetha (International Recruitment Coordinator, Middle East & North Africa) from the University of Alberta, engaged our Form Four and Lower Six students in insightful sessions.

Students gained detailed information about undergraduate programmes, admission requirements and processes, as well as scholarship opportunities. The sessions were both engaging and informative, broadening our students’ awareness of international academic pathways.

In addition, the representatives shared valuable perspectives on the transition from secondary school to university, highlighting key differences in academic expectations, cultural adjustments students may encounter, and the support systems available for international students. They also emphasized essential life skills needed for success in the first year of university.

These sessions highlight our commitment to equipping students with the knowledge and confidence needed to transition successfully to the next stage of their academic journey. We are grateful to our guest speakers and to Anna Mensah (Careers and Guidance Counsellor) for facilitating this impactful engagement.
