A Memorable Learning Experience: Reception Class Visit to Accra Zoo

Our Reception Class embarked on an educational trip to Accra Zoo on 12-13 March 2026. The visit formed part of our commitment to providing meaningful, hands-on learning experiences beyond the classroom in a memorable way.

The trip was designed to help pupils recognise and identify different animal species and understand their various habitats. This objective unfolded beautifully as the children toured the zoo, encountering a wide range of animals including monkeys, birds, reptiles, and other fascinating wildlife.

Our pupils were filled with enthusiasm and curiosity as they observed the animals and asked many questions. They were also engaged in discussions about animal sounds, movements, and feeding habits, making the experience both interactive and memorable.

This trip enhanced their knowledge of animal species and habitats, improved their listening skills, and their appreciation for nature. It also encouraged social interaction among themselves, while reinforcing concepts previously taught in class about animals and their habitats.

We extend our appreciation to our dedicated Reception Teachers and Teaching Assistants whose guidance and support ensured a smooth and impactful learning experience.

At TRRS, we remain committed to nurturing well-rounded learners through experiential learning and this was a perfect example of learning brought to life.
