TRRS Extends ICT Access Through Community Service

At The Roman Ridge School (TRRS), we recognise our social and moral obligations to society and believe in the power of education to transform communities. Following a full refurbishment of 3 of our IT labs, TRRS has donated a total of 32 computers to Afife Dziehe R.C. Basic School in the Ketu North Municipality in the Volta Region and Ashalaja M/A “2” Basic School in the Ga South Municipality.

Ahead of the donation, delegations of pupil representatives of TRRS from the Junior, Middle and Senior Schools travelled to both schools with their teachers, Miss. Ruth Tetteh & Mr. Richard Yeboah, to interact with the children in these institutions and also affirm their readiness to accept the donation in support of ongoing ICT programmes. Each school demonstrated strong commitment by preparing secure spaces to serve as computer laboratories, ensuring that the donated equipment would be protected and effectively utilised to support teaching and learning.

The official presentation ceremony, held at TRRS, brought together representatives from the TRRS Academic Board of Governors, Management, Staff & Students, alongside invited guests from both beneficiary schools. The programme featured student reflections from those who participated in the outreach visits and appreciation messages from the visiting schools. The highlight was the presentation of 16 computers to each school, a meaningful step toward enhancing ICT instruction in both schools.

Student participation was central to this initiative, offering real-world exposure and reinforcing values of leadership, empathy, and social responsibility. Visiting students and staff were also given a guided tour of TRRS campus, fostering interaction and collaboration among learners from different communities.

We are inspired by the commitment of our beneficiary schools to use these resources to strengthen teaching and learning.

Through this initiative, TRRS continues to demonstrate its dedication to service, leadership, and sustainable educational partnerships. The donation is expected to positively impact hundreds of students by providing access to practical ICT learning opportunities and strengthening digital literacy in the beneficiary schools.
