We are thrilled to announce Mr. Daniel Dodoo (History Teacher) and Mr. Regan Afari (Senior School Maths Co-ordinator) as Teachers of the Year for 2025/2026.
Established in 2010, the Teacher of the Year Award recognises excellence in teaching, pastoral care, and a consistent willingness to go above and beyond for our students. Since 2019, two teachers are selected annually; an endorsement of the vital role teachers play in shaping the TRRS experience.
Candidates must have served a minimum of three academic years. Over the course of the year, School Management carefully observes classroom teaching, student outcomes, teacher professionalism, and overall contribution to school life. Ten teachers are nominated, five are shortlisted, and interviews are held with a Selection Panel to identify the two most outstanding educators.
This year’s recipients stood out for their:

- Supportive, student-centred classrooms
- Strong subject knowledge and delivery
- Commitment to professional growth and teamwork
- Involvement in school events and wider TRRS life
- Leadership, Integrity, and Professionalism
Both Mr. Dodoo and Mr. Afari have made a lasting mark on our school and exemplify the values we hold dear. As part of their award, they will embark on a three-week overseas working holiday during the Christmas Term – visiting leading international independent schools, sharing best practices, and showcasing the high standards of The Roman Ridge School. Upon their return, they will play a key role to support Management’s various programmes and initiatives across the school.
