Form 2 students of TRRS had an enriching educational trip to Kumasi to explore the history and culture of the Asante Kingdom. This trip was aimed at deepening their understanding of the rich history and culture of the Asante Kingdom and to offer an experience with historical landmarks, providing them with a deeper connection to the lessons taught in History class.
The carefully planned itinerary included visits to key landmarks such as the Okomfo Anokye Sword Site, the Manhyia Museum, and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Students also had a unique opportunity to witness the Asantehene in council with elders and chiefs, offering a firsthand experience of traditional governance.
Additionally, they visited the Adinkra Village, where they gained insights into the cultural significance of Adinkra symbols. The trip not only enhanced their History lessons but also deepened their cultural appreciation, making the learning experience more tangible and memorable.
We are grateful to the teachers: Mr. Daniel Dodoo, Mrs. Abena Asare, and Miss Rosina Akpe, the school management and parents for making this trip possible. This experience has left students with lasting memories and a deeper connection to Ashanti heritage.
