On Friday, 27th June 2025, The Roman Ridge School came together for a memorable afternoon of celebration, reflection, and recognition during our annual Speech & Prize-Giving Day.
To open the ceremony, representatives from the Class of 2010, first graduating class of The Roman Ridge School, unveiled a bronze bust of the late Mr. Geoffrey Allen, TRRS Co-Founder and Founding Headmaster, alongside a touching tribute and plaque to officially commemorate our new play field as The Allen Field in his memory.
Subject prizes and certificates were awarded to outstanding achievers from Form 3 to Upper 6, including the Principal’s Honour Roll and Special Certificates of Academic Distinction from the Academic Board of Governors. We were honoured to receive a Special Message of Congratulations from the Chair of the Academic Board of Governors, Rev Dr Joyce R. Aryee.
TRRS welcomed Dr Miishe Addy from the Harvard Club of Ghana to present the Harvard Book Prize 2025 to Maame Akua Asare Danquah (Lower 6 West), as well as Mrs. Clara Browne and representatives from the Zonta Club of Accra to present the Young Women in Leadership Award (equivalent 5000 USD) to Elham Hamza (Lower 6 Atifi).
The event honoured the impressive accomplishments of the Class of 2025 – earning USD 2,353,011.73 in scholarships and awards to some of the most prestigious universities in the world. The Class of 2025 also announced the successful completion of their Graduation Service Project, raising 90,000 GHC to support Lifeline for Childhood Cancer Ghana, providing care for the Pediatric Oncology ward at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
In addition to recognising the exceptional academic and extra-curricular accomplishments of Senior School students, the ceremony acknowledged the outstanding achievements of TRRS Staff.
We were honoured to welcome the Chairman of the Board of Directors Mr. Frank B. Adu Jr, who presented Long Service Awards to deserving members of TRRS Staff who have dedicated 10, 15 and 20 years of loyal and committed service to TRRS.
Nana Osim Kwatia II (Member of the Academic Board of Governors) also announced the TRRS Teachers of the Year (2024/2025), Mrs. Joyce Dekagbe (Junior Maths Co-ordinator) and Ms. Rosina Akpey (Middle School English Co-ordinator).
