On 27 April, our Form 2 students embarked on an educational visit to the National Mosque in Kanda, Accra. This immersive experience was designed to reinforce their understanding of lessons learned in the classroom, bringing abstract concepts to life!
During the visit, students explored its remarkable architectural features and learned about its significance to the Muslim community in Ghana. The programme also included an engaging session on Islamic beliefs and practices and a guided tour of the mosque.
An interactive question-and-answer session allowed students to ask thought-provoking questions and deepen their understanding of what they had learnt in class.
This visit truly offered a unique opportunity to learn about a subject in a more interactive and immersive way than is possible within a traditional classroom setting, and by observing Islamic traditions and customs, students were able to foster mutual respect and tolerance navigating our multicultural society.
At TRRS, we believe that Such experiences are invaluable in broadening our students’ horizons and fostering a deeper appreciation for diverse beliefs and culture.
A special thank you to Mrs. Mabel Gavor (Theology, Philosophy and Religion Teacher), whose guidance ensured a well-organised and impactful learning experience.
