The Roman Ridge School (TRRS) is thrilled to announce the exceptional achievements of our students at the recently concluded ENJOY AI African Open 2026. Held at the Accra Digital Centre from 24 to 25 September 2026, this prestigious continental STEM, robotics, and artificial intelligence competition brought together schools, teams, and coordinators from across Africa to showcase hands-on innovation and technical skill.
Organised by The MakersPlace, the event challenged young minds to design, programme, and test robotic solutions across various futuristic categories. TRRS students rose beautifully to the occasion by demonstrating remarkable teamwork, creativity, and leadership.
We are incredibly proud to celebrate our winning teams who took top honours in their respective divisions:
- Senior Category – Battle of Stars Winners: Congratulations to TRRS team The Rookies, featuring our talented students Yitong Zuo (Form 5 Atifi), Ashwin Prakash Rao (Upper 6 East), Zarin Subah (Upper 6 West), Petra Adjei-Kumi (Upper 6 East), Kekeli Fiawoo (Upper 6 East), Klenam Asem (Upper 6 West), and Giovanni Francis (Upper 6 East), for an outstanding performance and securing the championship in this highly competitive category.
- Middle Category – Mining Expedition Winners: Exceptional praise goes to TRRS team Robotics FC, featuring our brilliant students Avyukt Murali-Krishna (Form 2 Atifi) and Aniketh Prakash Rao (Form 2 East), under the expert guidance of their coach, Christeen Daniels. The team excelled in navigating complex technical programming and engineering challenges to claim first place.
In addition to our official school teams, we are delighted to recognise Mona Asem (Form 1 East), who also participated in the competition as a member of a private team. Mona and her teammates delivered a superb performance, securing an impressive second place in the Middle School age category.
A special thank you goes to our dedicated teachers and TRRS Robotics Club Coaches Patrick Owusu Afriyie and Samuel Adjei Boateng, who accompanied and supported the students throughout their preparations and the intensive two-day event, ensuring they were motivated and prepared to excel on the continental stage.
This competition provided a powerful platform for our students to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world problems. By using AI and technology responsibly, ethically, and creatively, our participants truly reflected the TRRS commitment to academic excellence, character, and global citizenship.
Congratulations to all our brilliant young innovators, their supportive families, and our phenomenal staff for bringing these continental trophies home to TRRS!
