GLOBAL CHAMPION UPDATE: Queen Igbasan’s Winning Story “Loose Ends” is Now Published!

The Roman Ridge School (TRRS) is thrilled to share an exciting update following our student Queen Igbasan’s (F4 East) remarkable first-place victory in the Years 10–11 category of the UK Independent Schools Examinations Board (ISEB) and UK Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) Time to Write 2026 Creative Writing Competition.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Queen’s riveting story, “Loose Ends,” has officially been illustrated and published by the ISEB!

The international Time to Write competition invited thousands of pupils from years 3 –11 globally to craft original stories based on the theme “Threads.” Out of 48 brilliant entries submitted by TRRS, Queen emerged as the Overall Global Winner in her category.

As part of her grand prize, Queen collaborated with the prestigious Arts University Bournemouth to transform her words into a beautifully illustrated book. Alongside seeing her work published, Queen received fantastic prizes from global sponsors including:

  • Voxblock
  • Oxford University Press
  • Team Elite

Additionally, The Roman Ridge School will be presented with a curated set of books from Oxford University Press to enrich our school library.

This monumental achievement underscores TRRS’s unwavering commitment to cultivating strong literacy skills, nurturing creative expression, and encouraging students to engage meaningfully with language on a global stage.

We extend our deepest congratulations to Queen for this historic milestone, and our sincere appreciation to the English Department for championing this initiative and guiding our students towards global academic excellence.

Join us in celebrating Queen’s incredible success!
